P3: Pre-Professional Program
P3 is our Pre-Professional Program at Cornerstone Studio, comprised of high-school aged dancers who exhibit maturity, leadership, technical dance aptitude, collaborative skills, and a strong passion for sharing their love of dance. Participants are selected by invitation only, based upon a set of criterion evaluated alongside Cornerstone alumni and teacher nominations.
P3 dancers are expected to be self-starters and to take initiative at the studio to learn choreography quickly, adapt to choreographic changes, prepare for events and performances, work on assigned projects, volunteer their time, and lead by example. The program encourages dancers to take responsibility for themselves while being supported by professional adults other than their parents.
Outside of dance training, P3 is given the support and space to create their own art through the process of collaborative choreography. They are also provided with numerous opportunities outside of the classroom to attend workshops, master classes, performing arts auditions, apply for scholarships, and more. Guest instructors are also brought in to facilitate workshops on topics of interest, ranging from alternative dance styles to applicable life skills. The purpose of these opportunities is to give them an expansive experience in which they can apply to life in the real world, post graduation.
